Gene expression differences upon infection
In this part of my PhD, looked at the underlying differences in (immune) gene expression profiles between wild-caught and wild-infected stickleback from different Alaskan populations which have different infection responses: One high-infection and one low-infection (& high fibrosis) population
In this project we found:
1) Distinct immune gene expression patterns between two wild stickleback populations.
2) Signs of parasite-driven immune manipulation in the high-infection population.
3) Significant differences in baseline immune gene profiles between host populations.
